Melon won the Software Development award at E-volution Awards 2016

We are very happy that last night Melon won the Software Development award at E-volution Awards 2016 organized by Forbes. This category recognizes the leading software development company.

The E-volution Awards 2016 gathered the entire Bulgarian digital market to reward the most innovative and contemporary practices in the e-business. The jury consisted of 9 outstanding Bulgarian IT professionals. They received 208 applications and awarded 14 digital companies in 18 categories. The ceremony was held in Sofia on 26 April. 

Melon’s winning entry featured three of our most recent projects. They represent probably our strongest point – Melon’s technological diversity. First across web, mobile and desktop, and then across most top development platforms. To E-volution Awards 2016 we applied with Crowdfunding Platform Buzzbnk, Phyre and KnOWLedge Portal for Coca-Cola Hellenic.

Buzzbnk is a UK crowdfunding website for social ventures that has raised over £1,039,306 for social change. Melon developed their website allowing for white-label solutions and a supporting iOS app. The applied technologies are ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, iOS and Microsoft SQL Server. 

Phyre is a dynamic Bulgarian start-up. For them, Melon developed a mobile app that helps people avoid the hassle of keeping many loyalty cards in their wallets. Now, they can have them neatly organized in a digital wallet instead. Also, they can browse retailers’ offers and create lists with shopping items. It’s available at the App Store and Google play. 

For Coca-Cola Hellenic, Melon developed a web-based knowledge management system with a great user experience. Based on their roles within the company, employees can view, suggest updates and approve business processes. It is an efficient tool to keep track of, transfer and update the accumulated knowledge. The technologies are SharePoint Online, Visio Services, JavaScript and jQuery.

The competition was really tough. That’s another reason we are so proud and happy. Key to our success are all 160 amazing and highly qualified professionals who work at Melon.
