Delivered with security in mind.

Work from Anywhere

With our end-to-end solutions, you can provide  your employees with the latest workplace mobility tools. Melon will conduct an impact assessment of your applications and IT infrastructure readiness for remote work. Whether it comes to traditional IT or cloud, desktop, web applications or VDI, network connectivity, IT infrastructure resilience or security we will help you find out the areas that need improvements and propose the right solutions to enable stable IT operations in the long run. We will implement the chosen solutions and our IT Operations department will monitor, prevent and react to incidentsr.

Security @ Home

At Melon, we have accumulated security best practices build from 20 years of IT experience. Whether it comes to applying Password Policies or integrating Multi-Factor authentication, building a complete Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy and integrating the necessary technological solutions, or delivering a phishing awareness training we apply our security knowledge and know-how. We will help you build a secure network connectivity solution and assess your current measures in place for protecting the integrity and availability of data outside your office environment.

Cloud Operations

For most companies, being in the cloud is no longer a question. They want to know what is the best approach. The benefits are cut clear: to host applications and data in the most effective IT environment possible, based on cost, performance and security. By taking their journey to the cloud, companies can improve safety, data access, control, visibility, scalability, and IT flexibility. Simply, it allows businesses to focus on their core activities and expand.

what we do

No matter if it’s a set-up of a new environment, a transfer from a local, on-premises data center to the cloud or moving workloads and applications from one cloud platform or supplier to another you need the right partner with the right skills and experience to provide cloud operations and management services. Just moving the company’s applications and data to the cloud does not actually bring real benefits. We will help you identify the workloads, data sets and applications to move, draft the most applicable and effective cloud strategy, choose how to integrate legacy systems and cloud services, and plan and deploy the migration. Should it be Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure Cloud services, Google Cloud Platform or a hybrid or multi-cloud solution, we can stay on top of all your IT needs so you can focus on growing your business.

DevOps

If adopted, DevOps’ principles can accelerate collaboration and speed within a software development company. It will help you unify your development, operations and quality assurance teams and allow them to work more efficiently, delivering applications and services way faster. How? By bringing the right mix of culture, practices and technologies and providing the people working on the same product with the ways and means to automate as much as they can.

DevOps is an agile methodology and one of the best practices for delivering code changes frequently and reliably. It enables software development teams to focus on meeting business requirements, code quality, and security because deployment steps are automated.

Many aspects, if neglected, can cut down the efficiency of your processes. How can you avoid it and actually get all the benefits of DevOps? We do believe one size does not fit all. Despite multiple best practices exist, when one mentions DevOps, like CI/CD, Microservices, IaC, etc. we focus on the following 4 which we strongly recommend for every software development process: continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), infrastructure as a code, and monitoring & logging.

DevOps for Existing Dev Teams

Whether you are seeking to apply DevOps practices, like continuous integration (CI) or continuous delivery (CD) within your existing development teams or looking to automate your Cloud services provisioning using IaC tools like Terraform, Melon can step in and support you. Our DevOps engineers can advise on branching strategies, tool sets and deployment strategies to allow you build & deploy automatically, at scale, with zero downtime. Still tight to an on-premise application infrastructure? You can benefit from DevOps through collaboration, practices and automation. We can assess your environment and advise on the right solutions applicable for your software product.

Continuous Integration (CI)

Because most applications require developing code with different platforms and technologies, the teams need a system to integrate and validate their changes. The goal of CI is to establish a steady and automated way to build, package and test applications, as well as to find problems as early as possible. In a nutshell, CI catches and fixes bugs before quality issues arise. Microsoft defines CI as “the process of automating the build and testing of code every time a team member commits changes to version control.” With consistency in the integration process, teams are more likely to commit code changes more frequently, leading to better collaboration and software quality.

Continuous Delivery (CD)

CD starts where CI ends. It builds on the automation practices of CI. Most teams work with multiple environments – development, testing, etc. and CD ensures there is an automated way to push code changes to them. CD automates the delivery of applications to selected infrastructure environments no matter if cloud or on-premise. CD makes sure that the system is always in a verified or valid state where current changes could be pushed to production. It is a practice with no human intervention, the goal being to deploy updates quickly and sustainably and to minimize disruptions.

Infrastructure as a Code

Cloud provisioning or infrastructure as a code is another essential DevOps component. Cloud computing is far from being a panacea. A company needs to go further, if decided to solve all inconsistency issues. IaC simply means to manage your IT infrastructure using configuration files and source code and eliminates the need system administrators to manually manage and configure all of the hardware and software, servers, operating systems, database connections, storage, cloud services or any other infrastructure required for the applications to run.

It’s crucial for a company to control costs, by automating provisioning and deprovisioning of required infrastructures, reduce risks of human errors and ensuring consistency across deployments. Code reusability helps your teams focus on new challenges and high value-added activities, instead on tedious repetitive tasks. It allows to quickly bring up identical copies of your environment, no matter if it is a sandbox environment for a new developer in the team, or a QA replicating production. It will instantly enable scalability, availability and consistency.

Monitoring & Logging

With automation being at the core of DevOps principles, it’s a logical step to apply automation across all aspects of your infrastructure including monitoring and logging. Self-healing infrastructures prepare you to act immediately after an event or performance metric thresholds are breached, rather than wait for your support team to pick-up an incident and act upon it. Additionally, the collected logs and metrics allow your teams to apply analytics, observe patterns and anomalies and take actions before systems go down. This is important at times of rapidly increasing deployment cadence.
