What to Expect When Applying at Melon?

Our recruitment process is designed to find software development talent with the right values for our people-first environment.

Once you have applied for a position at our offices in Bulgaria or North Macedonia, we will go through your resume and all the other documents you have sent us. This can take up to 1 week, even though in most cases it is faster.

If you are shortlisted, we will either call you, or email you. We will schedule an online or on-site interview at a convenient time for you. We prefer meeting new candidates in-person as it is the best way to get to know you. But having in mind the dynamic pandemic situation or if this is not your preferred option for any other reason, we are totally fine and already adept with online interviews. Most likely, you will meet with a recruiter and the respective Team Lead.

The interview is a pretty informal dialogue to decide whether we are a good fit for each other. Your technical expertise is important and we will assess your skills and experience, but we also are eager to get to know you. For our software development teams, it’s important to have like-minded people who are on the same page. Being smart, delivering results and being nice are the three key ingredients we are looking for. We truly believe they make a good team-member, as well as a client.

Sometimes, we may ask you to a second interview and/or give you a technical homework with a set deadline. We appreciate your time and effort and whenever possible we try to avoid this step.

Usually, we need a week to evaluate every cycle of the application process. If, for any reason, this period is too long for you, please let us know and we will do our best to answer you earlier or at the date that you need.

If we find out that our needs and expectations are a good fit, we will invite you to become a part of our team and email you a job offer.
