Marcom (marketing and communication) Planning Tool or MPT, was the second project Philips selected us to carry out for them back in 2005. This ERP component Melon built for Philips TPV is used to this day to plan Philips’ marketing and PR campaigns in a number of countries, handle contracts and invoicing. We are also responsible for the tool’s ongoing technical support.
In 2011, the Philips licensee company TP Vision was established to continue the manufacturer’s TV business. This new joint venture also required a marketing planning tool and Melon geared up the Marcom system for their needs.
Later, the division running Philips’ new lifestyle entertainment brand wOOx needed customized versions of both Marcom and ROFO, the web-based financial planning, controlling, and forecasting system we developed for Philips earlier, for their specific needs. After we delivered them too, our client saw the potential of outsourcing the systems’ infrastructure and maintenance, so Melon now provides both systems as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and offers both the secure infrastructure and software development and support.
