The Company

Devin is a leading producer of bottled water in Bulgaria, offering a wide range of products: mineral water, spring water, carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks. The company is based in Sofia, has over 500 employees, and owns a sales and distribution network with national coverage. 

The Product

Vedri.bg is a responsive CMS-based community digital platform designed to promote the brand by engaging customers in a personalized and creative way. While showcasing Devin's extensive product line, the social network’s goal is to bring together those who are passionate about environmental activism and healthy lifestyle and invite them to express their thoughts and ideas on such topics. On Melon's side, a total of four people worked on the project: a project manager, two back-end developers, and a front-end developer. Starting in August 2021, our team needed around six months to complete the project.

Results

Melon developed a platform consisting of a landing page that provides access to numerous communities, articles, news, events, videos, and causes. There is also a forum in which users can write posts and take advantage of extra features like polls, voting, tagging, and more. As part of the loyalty program, the users also receive points for every action, which helps them achieve a higher rank. The website can generate numerous reports and uses Salesforce for marketing.

The Challenges

Since Devin used the help of contractors for the graphic design of the platform, Melon’s team had to wait for the design which slowed down the process a bit. Another difficulty was building the system that manages the loyalty program because of its very new and specific requirements and implementation challenges. Melon's software development team overcame every obstacle by establishing realistic expectations. In the process they discovered how crucial it is to be transparent and to set reasonable prospects.
